Telamon Foundation Announces Inaugural Scholarship Recipients

 

 

 

CARMEL, INDIANA – MAY 30, 2023– The Telamon Foundation is proud to announce Anna Klauz and Oscar Wang as the first recipients of the Telamon Scholarship.  Always looking for ways to give back to the community and our employees, the Telamon Foundation has funded 2 scholarships for eligible children of employees to pursue or continue secondary education.

 

After completing a rigorous application, which included 4 essays each on Telamon’s core values [Honesty, Harmony, Simplicity, and Stewardship], a minimum GPA requirement of 3.0, and demonstrative leadership and civic activity, applicants were evaluated by a completely unbiased and outside panel.  The well-rounded judging panel included Patti Napier, Anne Hensley Poindexter, Ranjit Puthran, John Williams, and Xiao Yuan, whose expertise encompasses religion, law, business, education, and finance, respectively.

 

Anna Klauz of Carmel, graduated from Carmel High School in 2020 and is a rising Senior at Indiana University.  She is majoring in Media Advertising and plans to work in the industry in marketing or creative advertising after graduation.  Her father, Michael, has worked in Telamon’s IT applications department for the last 6 years.

 

Oscar Wang of Carmel, graduated from Carmel High School in 2020 and is now a rising Senior at Purdue University.  He is majoring in Psychological Sciences and plans to pursue an MD after graduation, with a specialization in Psychiatry.  His mother, Melody, started as a staff accountant with Telamon 32 years ago and is currently Telamon’s Controller.

 

Kat Gerig, VP of HR at Telamon, shares, “The Telamon Foundation is thrilled to be able to be in a position to offer scholarships to our employees’ children.  Education is a cornerstone for Telamon and a primary area of support for the Telamon Foundation, and this scholarship is just one of many ways that we are able to show our employees how much we care and consider them part of the larger Telamon family.”
