Telamon Corporation’s Energy Solutions division is excited to announce that it recently completed a 1MW rooftop solar array at the Indianapolis Public Transportation Corporation (IndyGo) facility in Indianapolis. Telamon served as the system designer and engineer by performing construction oversight and serving as the owner’s representative.
The 4-acre solar array will produce enough power to offset the charging of 13 electric buses and according to IndyGo will lower operational costs and save energy and resources. It is also the second largest solar array installed by an American transit operator.
“Telamon is happy to play a role in helping IndyGo lead the transit industry in alternative energy,” said Mike Morley, Project Manager and Telamon Energy Solutions Engineer. “We are also proud to state that the project was completed on schedule and under budget.”
Additional partners included Enverity Engineering, Enginuity Management & Consulting, and ERMCO.
