Mung Chiang is the President of Purdue University and the Roscoe H. George Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Before becoming president in 2022, he was Dean of the College of Engineering and executive vice president for strategic initiatives. Chiang is a recognized innovator in wireless networks and edge computing, holding more than two dozen patents and co-founding several startups. His awards include the NSF Alan T. Waterman Award, IEEE Founders Medal, and a Guggenheim Fellowship. He has also served in national leadership roles, including Science and Technology Adviser to the U.S. Secretary of State and elected member of American Academy of Arts and Science and National Academy of Inventors
