Telamon Welcomes New Board Members

Telamon Corporation is proud to announce the appointment of three distinguished leaders to Board of Directors: Mel Raines, CEO of Pacers Sports & Entertainment; Mung Chiang, President of Purdue University; and Jim Moylan, retired Chief Financial Officer of Ciena.

The addition of these leaders broadens the perspective of our Board and strengthens its ability to provide thoughtful guidance. Their backgrounds span business leadership, higher education, and global technology, giving Telamon valuable insight as we pursue long-term growth and new opportunities.

Mung Chiang – Mung Chiang is the President of Purdue University and the Roscoe H. George Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Before becoming president in 2022, he was Dean of the College of Engineering and executive vice president for strategic initiatives. Chiang is a recognized innovator in wireless networks and edge computing, holding more than two dozen patents and co-founding several startups. His awards include the NSF Alan T. Waterman Award, IEEE Founders Medal, and a Guggenheim Fellowship. He has also served in national leadership roles, including Science and Technology Adviser to the U.S. Secretary of State and elected member of American Academy of Arts and Science and National Academy of Inventors.

Jim Moylan – Jim Moylan retired in 2025 after 18 years as CFO of Ciena Corporation, where he guided the company’s financial strategy through significant growth and global expansion. Over his career, he also held CFO positions at five other companies spanning energy, manufacturing, and financial services, giving him deep expertise in corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and operational excellence. Moylan previously served on the New York Stock Exchange’s Listed Company Advisory Board and is active in energy industry associations such as INGAA and the Southern Gas Association; on the board of community organizations including The United Way and Junior Achievement, and on the finance counsels of Christ the King Cathedral and Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School. His leadership in financial stewardship and corporate governance continues to shape organizations navigating complex global markets.

Mel Raines Mel Raines is the CEO of Pacers Sports & Entertainment, overseeing all business operations for the Indiana Pacers, Indiana Fever, Indiana Boom, and Gainbridge Fieldhouse. With more than 30 years of experience in corporate leadership, government relations, and event management, she has held senior roles in Congress, the White House, and at Altria Corporate Services. Raines played a pivotal role in organizing Indianapolis’ acclaimed 2012 Super Bowl and has been a leader in multiple Republican National Conventions. A graduate of Indiana University, she serves on numerous boards including the Pacers Foundation, Indy Chamber, Citizens Energy Group, and the Indianapolis Zoo, contributing her expertise to both business and community development.
