Challenge

An industry-leader in telecommunication services came to Telamon with a unique challenge. The customer’s Switch Power Plant had 2 strings of GU-41s—both of which failed within a week of each other. With a standard  35-day lead time to solve the issue, the customer went to Telamon in hopes for a faster solution.

 

  • Telamon conducted a survey immediately to determine the exact issue.
  • We found that one string would have the capacity to carry the plant within the Battery Hourly Reserve requirements.
  • Existing jobs were evaluated.
  • Materials were borrowed from other jobs, giving us enough batteries and materials to find a solution.

Results

The standard turnaround time for this scope of work is 56 days. We completed the job within 10.
